PARTNER
Partner with us to bring hope and change to communities in need.
Church to church partnerships begin with curiousity, not commitment. Are you curious? Is God stirring something in you that you'd like to invite more of your church to explore with you? We would love to walk that journey of discovery and discernment with you. You don't need to represent your church leadership or know whether your church is ready to partner. Simply reach out.
We would be glad to share more about the vision, hear about your church, answer your questions, explain what a partnership would involve, and explore together what God might be inviting your church into.
Partnership is a pathway:
Discernment takes time
Healthy partnerships aren't rushed. We believe a partnership should grow out of prayer, relationship and a shared sense of God's leading on both sides. Long before any commitment is made, we take time to get to know your church.
There is no predetermined timeline and no pressure to arrive at a particular outcome. Together we pray, listen, ask questions, build relationships, and discern whether God may be inviting two churches to walk together.
Each discernment path is different, and each will take a different amount of time!
Both sides
Partnership is a mutual invitation.
Just as your church will be discerning, the Thai church does the same. Both churches will have time to learn about one another, ask questions, pray and discern whether God may be leading them into relationship with one another.
Neither church is simply chosen for the other. A partnership begins when both churches freely and prayerfully say yes to walking together.
Mutuality and equality are integral values in the process of discernment!
There will be many stages to discerning, establishing, nurturing and enjoying a partnership. PiV joyfully wants to walk with you through each step of the process, making sure you can appreciate and experience each part fully.
We will help you and your partner pace appropriately and not rush through any stage.
We don't want to just help you establish a healthy partnership, but deepen the relationship so it can flourish for years to come.
It's a process
Growing relationship
Partnerships will not be easy at the beginning. There are many obstacles that divide. As churches stay in partnership with one another, their history and familiarity with one another will exponentially grow and produce a rich relationship that grows.
Managing expectations and allowing the relationship to grow organically can be hard for eager participants. What you put into the relationship will reap what you get out of it.
Don't be discouraged with a slow start, but know that faithfulness over a long period of time can produce something rich and valuable.

Your Questions
Does our church need to travel to Thailand to partner?
Travel can be a powerful part of building a relationship, but partnership is more than a missions trip.
Yes, much of the relationship is built between visits, but trips and visits are major catalysts to the relationship. At the beginning your trips will be weighted heavier towards the building of the relationship, getting to know one another. As the years go by, together you may discern practical opportunities for a trip to embody heavier missional components.
Who in our church is responsible for the partnership?
We encourage each church to develop a small group of people who become advocates for the partnership within their congregation. These individuals help nurture relationships, facilitate communication, share stories and prayer needs, and create opportunities for the wider church to participate and connect.
PiV walks alongside this team, providing intercultural preparation, resources, encouragment, and ongoing support.
What about language and cultural barriers?
Of course barriers will exist in a relationship like this. So although it is a barrier, the differences create the unique gift that this type of partnership brings. Differences in worldview change the way we engage in our faith, fellowship and embodiment of the church.
The practicality of barriers such as language and culture are hurdles that we gladly walk alongside you as a church to navigate. They do not completely obstruct your partnership, but they do force us to be creative in how partners communicate and know one another. These barriers make the journey that much richer and more beautiful!
We approach church to church partnerships with a long-term perspective. Deep relationships take time to develop, and some of the most meaningful fruit comes after years of walking together.
Rather than beginning with an end date, we encourage churches to enter partnership with a willingness to invest, grow and discern together over time.
How long does a partnership last?
What if our church isn't ready to commit?
That's okay. Exploring partnership doesn't mean committing to one.
We would be happy to meet with your leaders, share the vision of church-to-church partnership, answer questions, and learn about your church. From there, we can prayerfully explore whether taking another step makes sense.
